This is WEEKEND POSITION : Work days are FRIDAY : TUESDAY 8am : 5pm (Off Wednesdays and Thursdays) Total 40 hours weekly.
Weekend hours will not start until applicant is fully trained and ready for the weekend position. Training normally takes about a month and a half so during that time the applicant will be working Monday:Friday 8am:5pm.
EXAMPLES OF WORK
The incumbent assigned to this position is responsible for receiving, reviewing and assigning all abuse reports received from the Florida Abuse Hotline. Additionally, the incumbent follows up with the appropriate supervisory personnel to ensure they are aware of the pending investigation and staff assignment. This enables the supervisor to ensure the Child Safety Risk Assessment is completed within the prescribed time frames.
Print and review all abuse reports received from the Hotline and OTI requests called in from other counties. This requires coordination with the Florida Abuse Hotline Information system (FAHIS), Child Information System (CIS) and Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN). Review appropriate databases for the previous or open investigations and child family involvement with other family safety programs. Provides clerical support for a multi:function Family Safety Unit. This employee functions on an independent level while performing a variety of duties, which require initiative and sound judgment.
Prepares intake case records for Child Protective Investigator for cases received over the Child Abuse Hotline. Case is then assigned in Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN) and CPI is notified. This same procedure is followed for any Out:of:town Inquiry Request that is received. Assign cases to CPI or CPI Supervisor, Package investigation information
Works weekends pulling cases from internal system, assigning out cases to on call CPI staff. Communicates with supervisor and on call staff during the weekend.
Weekday sitting at the front desk, assisting clients and answering phones thru switchboard.
Assist Child Protective Investigator units by setting up investigation file folders and archiving closed cases, typing up mileage, faxing referrals, etc.
Locates and retrieves files upon request from authorized users.
Places materials into storage receptacles, such as file cabinets, boxes, bins, or drawers, according to classification and identification information.
Removes or destroys out dated materials in accordance with file maintenance schedules or legal requirements.
Scans or reads incoming materials to determine filing order or location.
Assigns and records or stamps identification numbers or codes to index materials for filing and tracking assignments.
Inserts additional data on file records.
Directs filing and cross indexing of selected documents in alphabetical and chronological order.
Work the front desk of the service center greeting customers and the public. Answering and transferring phone calls to the appropriate contact.
Have excellent customer service skills.
Applies policy guidelines concerning public access and use of materials.
Type up mileage for investigators and other DCF staff.
