Plans and conducts community education presentations and programs. Provides patient and family education based upon established guidelines and procedures. Provides specialized assistance to breastfeeding mothers and infants, and lacation education to staff and community. Knowledge & Skills Required: Advanced knowledge of healthcare theories and practice Expertise in childbirth education Knowledge and skills in education Education & Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in nursing, health education, or related healthcare field Approximately one to two years experience in teaching, program development, and evaluation Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration Required: Certification as a Basic Life Support Instructor Current Florida licensure as a registered nurse International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners. I.B.C.L.C. certification, or Certified Lactation Counselor (C.L.C.) certification or current active pursuit of certification Physical Demands for Essential Functions of the Job: Ability to lift equipment no more than fifty pounds Ability to move and set up equipment Physical flexibility to move up and down fifty percent of work time when providing instruction
